The price was good for the refurbished unit. I ordered the wrong scanner, not an Inkjet, and it returned quickly and easily. The scanner works fast and communicates with M&T easily. We utilize M&T Bank and installation went smoothly. The scanner is not very good quality and it does not cost a ton of money, however, it does a great job. It is very simple to use and does not cause any issues. Everything except a few initial plugs, the baby is functioning fine. I have been given an RDI scanner before, and the time it takes to process a batch of checks was long. The speed at which this scanner reads these checks still saves me time over my prior scanner, Jams inclusive. When performing multiple checks, one should have to utilize another scanner. Several of the jams came from smaller checks, but I did have a couple of larger ones in the last few times I had them. I deposited fourteen checks, and it returned four times. The jams require the removal of the cover, flipping open a back shield, and opening the roller slot. It would be hard to be more satisfied with the digital check readers we received and the customer service. They cancelled the duplicate order and pulled it from shipping. I contacted North Star Business products via email and they were great. We accidentally ended up with a duplicate order and I was nervous as it was a third party dealer. We decided to add another one to our processing location.
Our first purchase was a scanner about two months ago and I am confident it will be successful. Great product, excellent customer service. I would advise everyone that check with their bank to see if they have a model they recommend or support. It is compatible with the bank's program. I have been using this for about three months, a minimum of three or four times a week, or between 10 and 30 checks per batch, without any issues. I previously used multicheck scanners, but I think I prefer this. I find it to be a fast scanner and allows you to feed checks in individually.
